Protective Gloves Against Dangerous Chemicals and Micro-Organisms
โฃ๏ธ ๐งช
Chemicals can cause serious harm for both personal health and the environment. This standard defines requirements for gloves protecting against dangerous chemicals and micro-organisms and how permeation and degradation are tested.
Permeation
- Type A โ 30 minutes (level 2) against minimum 6 test chemicals
- Type B โ 30 minutes (level 2) against minimum 3 test chemicals
- Type C โ 10 minutes (level 1) against minimum 1 test chemical

Penetration
Chemicals can penetrate through holes or defects in the glove material. To ensure proper protection the glove must not leak air or water during testing.
Microorganisms and Bacteria
Tested according to EN 374-2
Requirements in EN ISO 374-5
Requirements in EN ISO 374-5

Degradation
The glove material may be negatively affected by chemical contact. Degradation results must be reported to the user.
Micro-Organisms
All gloves must be tested against bacteria and fungi and may also be tested against viruses according to EN ISO 374-5:2016.
